The First Electronic Toy Made For Children.

The first electronic toy made for children is widely recognized as the "Lunar Lander" toy, released in the late 1960s to early 1970s. But a toy made specifically for children is widely recognized as the "Mattel Auto Race", released in 1976. However, going even further back, a more pioneering example is "Simon", the iconic memory game released in 1978. But before both of these, one of the earliest true electronic toys for children was the "Radio Nurse", created in 1937 by Zenith Radio Corporation.

1. Radio Nurse (1937)
A Revolutionary Start by Isamu Noguchi, the Radio Nurse wasn't exactly a "toy" in the playful sense, but it marked the first use of electronic devices for child-related purposes. It was a baby monitor that transmitted sounds from a child’s room to a receiving unit. While not interactive, it paved the way for child-focused electronics.
2. Leka (1950s–60s):
Educational Steps --- In the post-WWII era, early electronic kits were developed for kids to assemble radios and simple circuits. These educational tools were often considered toys and helped children learn the basics of electronics.
3. Mattel Auto Race (1976):
The First Handheld Electronic was developed by Mattel Electronics, was the first fully digital handheld electronic game, designed as a racing simulation using LED lights. It allowed kids to control a tiny dot representing a race car, navigating around other dots on the screen—making it a milestone in electronic toy history.

4. Simon (1978) – The Memory Masterpiece:
Created by Ralph H. Baer and Howard J. Morrison, Simon became an international sensation. It featured four colored buttons that lit up in a sequence which the player had to repeat. It combined light, sound, and memory skills, becoming a beloved game across generations.
Finally, we can say that While the Radio Nurse was the first electronic device associated with children, Mattel Auto Race and Simon are more widely credited as the first true electronic toys designed for play and entertainment. They marked the beginning of a new era where electronics and fun merged to create interactive learning and gaming experiences for kids.
